FlippityBoard · Airspace
See the plane flying over you
Airspace reads FlightRadar24 flight data for the aircraft passing over your location and flips it onto a retro departure board — airline, flight number, aircraft, and altitude, rotating with your local weather.
A flight tracker that looks like an airport
Most trackers are a map full of icons. Airspace is the arrivals board — the single plane overhead, on the Classic Departure preset, the way a terminal would show it.
The aircraft overhead
The airline, flight number, aircraft type, altitude, and distance of the best aircraft passing over your location, from FlightRadar24.
Rotates with weather
Pair Airspace with the Weather scene so one board flips between the plane overhead and your local conditions.
Classic departure styling
Black board, crisp white flaps, and a real flap animation — the airport look, ready for a wall display, monitor, or tablet.
Approximate & private
Your location is rounded to an approximate point used only to find nearby aircraft. No precise pin is stored.
How it works
Sign up and open the editor
Create a FlippityBoard account and open the browser editor. No install, no hardware.
Content, Special Content, Airspace
Open the Content tab, go to Special Content, choose Airspace, then search your city or address and pick which flight details to show.
Save it to a board
Save the scene to a board and it refreshes on its own, rotating with weather or any other scene you add.
Airspace is on the Personal (one-time $5) and recurring Business plans — the same plan that unlocks scene sequencing, Premium Rendering, branding control, more saved scenes, and transparent WebM and Alpha APNG exports. Free accounts can still build, customize, save, and export boards.
Questions about flights overhead
How do I see what plane is flying over me?
Sign up for FlippityBoard and open the editor, then go to Content, then Special Content, then Airspace. Search your city or address, and the board reads FlightRadar24 flight data for the aircraft passing over your location, then flips the airline, flight number, aircraft type, and altitude onto a split-flap departure board.
What does the Airspace board show?
For the best aircraft overhead, the board can display the airline, flight number, aircraft type, altitude, distance from straight overhead, and the route it is flying. When no qualifying aircraft is in range, it reads CLEAR SKIES ABOVE instead.
Can the board also show the weather?
Yes. Airspace pairs with the Weather scene, so a single board can rotate between the plane overhead and your local conditions like temperature, sky, and wind. It works as a flight tracker and a small weather station at the same time.
Is the Airspace feature free?
Building, customizing, saving, and exporting boards is free. Airspace itself is on the paid plans, Personal and the recurring Business plan, because it pulls FlightRadar24 data on every refresh. That same plan also unlocks scene sequencing, Premium Rendering, branding control, more saved scenes, and transparent WebM and Alpha APNG exports.
Is my location private?
Your location is rounded to an approximate point used only to look up nearby aircraft. FlippityBoard does not store a precise pin of where you are.
How often does the board update?
Boards refresh on an interval measured in minutes rather than seconds. FlightRadar24 lookups have a real cost, so the refresh has a floor and the data budget grows as the feature does.
Watch the sky on a flip board
Sign up, drop the Airspace scene on a board, and leave it running. The next plane overhead will flip into place on its own.
