Flippity Board Privacy Statement

Flippity Board is operated by Swank Labs LLC, a Washington limited liability company, doing business as Flippity Board ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use Flippity Board.

1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: Email address, password, username, and account consent choices.
- Board content: Text, layouts, themes, scene settings, presets, exports, and other content you create or save.
- Guest submission content: If you enable public submission features such as Wedding Guest Notes, we may process guest messages, optional names, optional email addresses, and related moderation or playback state.
- Support and communications: Requests, feedback, bug reports, and other messages you send us.
- Payment information: Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Information collected automatically
- Browser type, device type, operating system, screen size, language, and similar device or browser details.
- Pages viewed, routes used, editor interactions, session activity, diagnostics, performance data, and server logs.
- Cookie and similar technology data, including your consent preferences and certain browser-local settings.
Location information
We may use rough location information derived from your IP address or hosting platform geo headers for consent-region detection and features such as weather or time defaults. If you use Airspace features, we may also process a city, address, or approximate map coordinates that you choose. We do not request browser GPS location for these features.
2. How we use information and lawful basis
Depending on your location, laws such as the GDPR and UK GDPR require us to identify a lawful basis for processing. We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain Flippity Board: Performance of a contract.
- Save, sync, export, and display your boards, scenes, presets, and related settings: Performance of a contract.
- Process subscriptions, billing, account recovery, and account deletion requests: Performance of a contract.
- Run public guest-submission workflows you enable, such as Wedding Guest Notes: Performance of a contract and our legitimate interests in operating the service safely.
- Monitor performance, debug issues, improve reliability, and secure the service: Legitimate interests.
- Detect abuse, enforce limits, prevent fraud, and protect our users and systems: Legitimate interests.
- Communicate with you about your account, support issues, product notices, and security matters: Performance of a contract and legitimate interests.
- Send marketing or product-update emails when you opt in: Consent.
- Run analytics on the website and editor when you allow analytics cookies: Consent where required, otherwise legitimate interests.
3. How we disclose information
Service providers
We may disclose information to vendors and service providers that help us operate Flippity Board, including providers for hosting and infrastructure, authentication, database storage, analytics, communications, billing, and certain live-data features.
- Hosting and performance: Vercel.
- Authentication, database, storage, and email delivery: Supabase.
- Website analytics when consented: Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.
- Payments and subscriptions: Stripe.
We may also disclose information to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, safety, and security of Flippity Board, our users, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
No sale or cross-context advertising sharing
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not currently run targeted advertising pixels or marketing-cookie ad stacks on the site.
Public boards and guest-submission pages
If you choose to publish a shared design link or enable a public guest-submission page, information on that surface may be visible to other people with access to that link or token. Please do not post information you do not want others to see.
Third-party links
Flippity Board may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance, and support analytics. Necessary cookies stay on because they are required for core site behavior. Analytics cookies remain off in consent-required regions until you opt in.
You can manage your preferences through our cookie banner and cookie controls where available, including the persistent Cookie Preferences control in the site footer on routes that render the shared footer and the compact floating cookie icon after a choice has been saved.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate the business, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
- Account and saved-content data: Retained until deleted by you or as part of account deletion, subject to limited exceptions.
- Support-assisted deletion requests: Targeted for completion within 30 days, subject to verification and legal exceptions.
- Export files: Deleted as part of account deletion workflows.
- Operational and security logs: Retained for limited periods as needed for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
- Backups and de-identified data: May persist for limited backup periods or longer when data can no longer reasonably identify you.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Withdraw consent for optional analytics cookies where we rely on consent.
- Opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages.
- Object to or restrict certain processing in some circumstances.
- Appeal a privacy-request decision where required by law.

7. Children's privacy
Flippity Board is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service, and if you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to the applicable terms on your behalf. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child in a manner that requires deletion, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.
8. International use and data transfers
Flippity Board is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on applicable contractual and other lawful transfer mechanisms made available by us or our service providers.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect the information we maintain, including HTTPS in transit, authentication controls, server-side access restrictions, and abuse-prevention measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this statement
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and provide additional notice where appropriate.
